These days

Time just seems to fly by sometimes, doesn't it? Asher will be 5 months in a few days! He is getting so big so fast, and it is so fun to watch him grow and learn. His current interests include sucking his thumb/fist nonstop, rolling from his back to his front at every opportunity, caterpillering (his little version of crawling), jumping in his bouncer to the rhythm of some children's folk tunes (kind of), watching the iTunes visualizer and having his first taste of rice cereal. He also has a lot of fun flying with dad and laughing at mom for no reason:) I'm hoping his interests will soon include sleeping at least a 5 hour stretch at night.

Kelly has been working at an architecture firm nearby doing drafting and has really liked keeping busy. School starts up on Monday the 22nd and then he'll be working as a TA, as well as at the architecture office, and being the EQP on the side, so Asher and I might see him sometimes:) Actually, he does a wonderful job of balancing things and never ceases to amaze me with how well he can prioritize and get everything done and do a great job at that.

I'm just working a few hours a day and enjoying watching Asher grow. I daydream about running ridiculously long distances sometimes, but then have to pull myself back to the reality to get my 1 or 2 miles in. I'm mostly working on trying to get in the habit of running again and then I can focus on the distance and the ulitmate goal of next summer. I like this quote I found a while ago: "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be breakfast. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or gazelle - when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."-The quote doesn't mention any turtles and their race for survival, but I can still kind of relate.

Last week we got to go down to Provo to celebrate Kelly's brother Aaron's graduation from graduate school, as well as Lincoln and Adelia's birthdays. Kelly's mom and dad came into town for the event as did his sister Lisa and her kids and it was so good to see everyone.
